Welcome to the Shady Brook Brittany web site. It is a pleasure to share with you the exploits of my incredible Brittanys. Compared to other Brittany owners, I am considered a newcomer to the sport because I didn't purchase my first Brittany until the spring of '94. My husband and I played with her for over a year before discovering that our Brittany wanted to do more than just hang around the house!
I began attending to Breed handling classes and started training for hunting competition with the AKC. She was 22 months old when both she and I were ring ready. Mickie Sue went on to become a Champion and earned her Junior Hunting title. In the years that followed, she won several Best of Breeds and many Best of Breeds as a Veteran. With a 20 minute lesson, I entered her in a test for her Canine Good Citizen Award and she passed with flying colors.
She gave birth to six champions of record with 4 hunting titles, one Obedience title and 2 Canine Good Citizen Awards. Her granddaughter Pearl completed her Championship with two Brittany Specialty wins back-to-back. She has three other beauties working in the ring and field at the present time.
It was with great sadness that I said good-bye to my beautiful Mickie Sue in the fall of 2004.
